It is important that you take care of the slides, that way when you need them they are easy to find. When setting up your lab it is important to find a space to put your microscope slide cabinet. Do your research to find out what size will work best for your needs. Will you need a large one? Will it be used in a school setting? Will you need a smaller one because you will be the only person that will be using it? The microscope slide cabinet is as important piece of equipment as the microscope itself. It allows you to prepare your slides and view them, but then give you safe storage. I remember when I was doing my college work with prepared slides. When they were not taken care of and not put back into the microscope slide cabinet the slides would become difficult to ready. Often times they would crack and have smudges on them.
